From the 23rd to 27th of June, ASCERT celebrated Health and Wellbeing Week, a dedicated time for our team to come together, slow down, and focus on what truly matters: our wellbeing. The week featured a variety of themed activities designed to support mental, physical, emotional, and even financial health, all while encouraging connection among colleagues.
Here’s a look back at the highlights from each day:
Mindful Monday – Print and Pause with Tina McGleenan
We kicked off the week with a calming start as Tina McGleenan led a Print and Pause session. This hands-on, creative activity provided an opportunity to slow down, be present, and enjoy a mindful moment through the power of art and meditation.
Thoughtful Tuesday – Financial Wellbeing with Margaret McCloskey
Money can be a major source of stress, so on Tuesday, Margaret McCloskey from the Money & Pensions Service joined us to deliver a practical session on financial wellbeing. Staff gained valuable tips and tools for managing finances and planning for the future.
Wellness Wednesday – Supporting Staff Wellbeing
Wednesday focused on raising awareness about the resources ASCERT offers to support staff wellbeing. From CALM, the popular mindfulness app, to Westfield Rewards, employees were reminded of the everyday tools available to help manage stress and boost resilience.
Taste of Home Thursday – Comfort Food from Our Kitchens
There’s nothing like a home-cooked meal to bring people together. On Thursday, ASCERT staff brought in dishes from home, sharing flavours, stories, and a bit of warmth with each other. It was a delicious celebration of culture, comfort, and community.
Fun Friday – The Great ASCERT Quiz
We ended the week on a high with a Fun Friday quiz, where staff were split into predetermined teams for some light-hearted competition. It was a brilliant way to strengthen team spirit and enjoy a few laughs to round off a meaningful week.
A Week of Reflection, Connection and Support
Reflecting on the success of the week Ella, ASCERT’s Human Resources Manager shared:
“Health and Wellbeing Week is such an important opportunity for staff to take time for themselves, reconnect with colleagues and explore areas of wellbeing they might not usually think about, like financial health. It’s about more than just a few activities, it’s about creating a culture where people feel supported in every aspect of their lives.”
Thank you to everyone who got involved and helped make the week such a success. At ASCERT, we’re committed to continuing to support the wellbeing of our staff, not just during one week, but all year round. ASCERT is proud to have been awarded the Investors in People Gold Award for two years in a row. This would not have been possible without each and every one of our amazing staff members.
