Laura Beacom, three-time European Sport Stacking Champion from East Belfast, has joined the ASCERT Sport Stacking Challenge, a new initiative encouraging young people across primary schools, youth clubs, and sporting organisations to take part in a fun, active campaign promoting wellbeing, confidence, and teamwork during Children\u2019s Mental Health Week (9<\/span>th<\/span> \u2013 15<\/span>th<\/span> February 2026).<\/span><\/p>\n

Laura has excelled in sport stacking for years, winning multiple European titles and competing internationally. Now, she is passionate about growing the sport in Northern Ireland and giving more young people the chance to experience the excitement and benefits of sport stacking.<\/span><\/p>\n

Laura said:<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u201cI\u2019ve been fortunate to achieve so much in sport stacking, but what really motivates me now is helping the next generation get involved. It\u2019s a fun, fast-paced sport that builds focus, coordination, and teamwork, and I want to see more children across Northern Ireland enjoying it.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The ASCERT Sport Stacking Challenge invites primary schools, youth groups, and sporting clubs to register and take part in a series of activities. Participating groups will receive step-by-step sport stacking tutorials, mindfulness journals to support young people\u2019s mental wellbeing, and other resources to help bring communities together through friendly competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the campaign, groups who raise over \u00a3250 will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a visit and masterclass with Laura Beacom, giving pupils and members a hands-on experience with one of Europe\u2019s top sport stackers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gary McMichael, Chief Executive of ASCERT, said:<\/span>

\n<\/span>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to see young people discovering sport stacking, supporting each other, and having fun while learning new skills. I can\u2019t wait to see even more schools and youth groups taking part this year.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
